That's a long time. But, look, if I put it over on blogspot.com, I can have all sorts of fun stuff like a slideshow and a blogroll and a cute header! But then I'll be starting a new blog and my archives will be all over here at this one.

Now that I put it that way, it seems like a no-brainer. Abandon seven years worth of blog posts just so I can have a cute header?

But it's a really cute header!

Go see, and then come back and let me know what you think.

For the record, the archives and old posts from this blog will always be here. And to be honest, Linus had a poopy diaper when he was weighed. I changed him and unofficially weighed him again, and he lost 3.5 oz! That's QUITE a poopy diaper, yes? Ew. Sorry. But Oliver's diaper was full too (sorry, gross) so I think Linus still weighs more.

Anyhoo. Here's what they're doing now...

- Eating between 2-3 solid meals a day, plus 5-6 bottles. Geesh! They like rice cereal, bananas, apples, sweet potatoes, peas, carrots, pears...okay, basically all of the stage 1 foods. I mashed them up an avocado once, but they weren't impressed. I'll try it again later. I'm not worried. So far they're not picky at all.

- Sitting up a little bit, but not great. They can't make themselves sit up, I have to put them in that position. But they can hold themselves in position for a few seconds (maybe 10-15) before they topple over.

- Babbling a lot, esp Linus and Oliver. Miles is a bit quieter, but he still does his share of chattering.

- They are starting to laugh at things we do, instead of just by being kissed all over or me tickling them with my hair.

- They LOVE to stand.

- They LOVE the taste of hands. Mmmmm, hands. Theirs, yours, mine, whatever hand is available will go right into mouth!

- No teeth yet, but I swear I feel one popping up in Linus's mouth, but maybe not. We'll see.

- Drooling like mad. It's crazy. Like someone turned on a faucet in their head. Nice.

- Starting to get a little separation anxiety? They now outstretch their arms when they want to be picked up. And whine. Fun. But it is kind of sweet, too.

- Love the exersaucers, walker. The swings are about to be gone for good. They love to suck on their feet now, which is looking more and more dangerous is the swing. Not very fond of the Bumbos anymore, either.

- As just mentioned, they found their feet! Love to eat them. Yum, feet.

- STTN is still elusive. They're good about not eating during the night, but sometimes they'll wake up and fuss. I think we've gotten two solid nights of STTN in a month. Sigh.

I guess that's it for now, if I remember anything else, I'll update this entry.

Pics of Oliver and Miles I took today while Linus was hanging out with George. Note the copious amounts of drool...

Miles:

Wide-eyed Oliver:

Miles's eyelashes:

Brother's face is fun to play with:

Am so excited...in less than three weeks, I'll be spending the weekend in the DC area with Kristina and my sister and Emily and my other DC-area friends. Since it's just me going, I'll be bringing just one baby with me. And I'm going to pick fairly (in case they're reading this in 15 years...) and draw a name out of a hat. Either that, or I'll just take lots of pictures in different outfits, and Photoshop the resulting photos to make it look like I brought all three. (And in that case, of course I'll edit this entry.)

If you're disappointed that I'm not bringing all three boys, do this...drink several beers. And then you'll see three. They're identical, you won't know the difference! Or if you're not a drinker, squint. Or something.

I can't wait to see my Emily again, and to see Kristina's new house, and Annie and her son Whitman and their new house. And hopefully meet some of my blog friends too! Egads, it's exciting!

We had a pretty low-key fourth of July. We didn't even see a single firework! But we did hang out with some friends for a little while. Mostly I was preparing for the most exciting part of the weekend...Saturday night!

My boss and his family took all three boys overnight so George and I could have some time to ourselves. People, I slept until ELEVEN IN THE MORNING! It was blissful. I took some Tylenol PM to make sure I didn't hear phantom baby cries in the night.

We also went to dinner with friends and I saw WALL-E. Ack, I loved it! Want to see again.

So that is me right now. If anyone has tips for flying alone with a baby, please feel free to share!

Now, for your enjoyment...

Linus does "the lip"

And now Oliver...

Our aquarium trip from last weekend: Note Miles eating his blue stroller. He looooves blue stroller. It tastes goooood.

Linus, lecturing from the chair I won in a contest on ohdeedoh.com:

But he didn't like the chair for very long:

And hanging out at Gulf Pizza on the Fourth. George thinks he may have to go into work on Friday, and the thought of being by myself in the house all day on a holiday with the boys makes me want to scream or throw up. So please, hang out with me. Come over. Give me some ideas of things to do. Pleeease! I wish my mom was in Baton Rouge, we'd just go there, but she's at the beach this week. Lucky!

The boys seem to be on the mend, but we kept them home from daycare today anyway, just in case. Plus, I had a dentist appointment this morning (most painful filling EVER) and this afternoon I have to go to the WIC office to get more vouchers. So we kept them home, because if the daycare would have called for us to pick them up, we would have been in a bind.

Nothing much else going on here....

Oliver, originally uploaded by pyjammy.

What I need to do is go to bed, and sleep while my sick little guys are sleeping. Because it ain't gonna last long. But instead, I am going to post some pictures of each boy when they were teeeeeny tiny. Because I can.

It blows me away to look at this tiny baby now. Oliver is my chunker, weighing in at somewhere in the 17 lb range now. He's two days old here, and he weighed 4 lbs, 10 oz at birth. He's almost quadrupled his birth weight! I could fit him almost in my hand, look!

I remember when I first got to see the boys. It was earlier that day, the day after they were born. I didn't get to see them until about 28 hours had passed, because I was on a magnesium sulfate IV to bring down my blood pressure. I can't say it was the worst thing in the world - I was sad to have to wait, but honestly, I was so doped up on morphine and pain meds that I don't remember much of their birth day anyway.

I didn't really bond with the boys right away. I think maybe that had something to do with the fact that I didn't get to see them for so long? Or because they were in the NICU and I was seven floors below them in my hospital room? I could only go see them for a short time every day, if I could get someone to wheel me up. (George had a cold and didn't get to see them until they were four or five days old!)

But now I look at this tiny baby and look at his little angry face that he makes even now when he cries, and my heart gets all gooshy and melty and I think, man, I love that kid!

And his brothers, too...

Tiny Miles:

And big brother Linus:

Ugh. We have sick babies here. It is definitely the most miserable I've ever heard them. They just moan.

I took Linus to the ped this morning and she took one look at the little bumps on this tongue and said he has a virus that's related to Hand Food and Mouth disease, but without the hands and feed. :P

It's just awful. They don't want to eat because it hurts, but they cry when they're hungry. They are all mucusy and they have been coughing and puking up all the mucus that's been draining. It's very sad and scary, the choking. :(

Just keep the little guys in your thoughts, that this goes away very fast. Remember how I hit you all up for donations, because I had to raise a certain amount of money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society?

Here's a link to my old training blog for that marathon:
http://www.pyjammy.com/tnt/

Well, don't worry. I'm not crazy enough to do that again, not with three babies. But my friends Mary Catherine and David are *that* crazy. Even though they have a new baby (the future wife of one of my sons, Millie), they are training to run the Maui Marathon in September. Wait...Maui...maybe that isn't so crazy after all. Hmm. But really, training for a marathon during a hot, disgusting New Orleans summer? That deserves a little something, doesn't it?

Anyway, the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society is a wonderful organization and I highly recommend you make a little donation to help them. I can promise that training for a marathon in New Orleans heat is hard enough without having to fund raise at the same time. I know I have a lot of kind blog readers, and even if you gave a couple of dollars, would help them out a lot.

Here's a link to their fundraising page, with a picture of my future daughter-in-law. How can you resist those eyes? You can't. Don't even try.

http://pages.teamintraining.org/la/maui08/mmoffett

Uncle Evan came to town this weekend (well, to Baton Rouge), so I took the boys to see him and spend the night at Grandees. It was mostly fun.

Friday night we went out to eat, and Saturday we went to the mall. I bought some lipstick that has since disappeared. I suspect it's in my car somewhere, which means it will have melted into a puddle by now, which means I may has well flushed $12 down the toilet. Or burned it. Or shredded it. Etc, etc. Sigh. I hope I find it.

Saturday night, some people came over for dinner. Later, Evan made me drive across town so he could film some nighttime footage for the movie he's currently working on. I'd better get mentioned in the credits.

Here is Uncle Evan and his three nephews (out of order...here is Linus, Miles, Oliver.)

When the boys were born, I thought they looked just like Evan. Maybe it was the hair...

Totally off the subject, but this is how I found Linus during a nap yesterday:

Giggling Oliver

Giggling Oliver, originally uploaded by pyjammy.

My giggly boys! This is Miles.

Aaaand, can't forget my Oliver bear!

All three (taken by Mary)

It was a half good, half horrific weekend. Saturday was good. Actually, I should back up. Friday was great. We had friends babysit that night, and we saw Indiana Jones. I really liked it! Harrison Ford is still dreamy, I'm happy to report. And then on Saturday, I took the boys to play with some friends. Between Mary's little guy, Hadley's twins, and my triplets, we had six little boys under two. Of course, mine were just sitting there like (admittedly cute) lumps while the others were running around like little (admittedly adorable) wild men. The older boys had no interest in mine - unless their moms were holding one, and they really didn't like that. But they made me SO excited for my boys to be that age. They are just too, too cute. Such boys, you know? Running, screaming, sweating, rolling around in puddles. Ack!

And then we went to my friend Mandy's house, where there was a baby closer to their age! Just a couple of months older than my boys, and let me tell you, it was terrifying to see how close we are to mobility! Gaaah! But there were lots of fun toys to play with, and I think in about 16 years, we might have some fighting over pretty Miss Annabel.

A reaches for Oliver. You can see him saying "oooh, pretty girl!"

But then there was Sunday. Actually, it started at around Midnight. The boys were experiencing, let's just say, something very smelly and messy and it involved baths and the changing of sheets at midnight, 2 am, and 4 am. And then all day on Sunday too. Fun times! Yeah. Happy Father's Day, George! Hope you like poop!

I've been tagged! Thanks, Rachel!

What was I doing ten years ago?
Ten years ago was not a good time. I was mourning the recent loss of my beloved daddy. Still in college (should've graduated the year before) but at least I had an end in sight (I graduated the following December.)

What are five (non-work) things on my to-do list for today?
Well, it's already 8:30, but I'll talk about what was on my list...
1. Go to Target to get overnight diapers (boys are too small for them yet), pool floaty thingy for boys (they don't have them anymore), drop ins (check!)
2. Go to bank to deposit checks (nope)
3. Call salon to cancel appointment for Saturday (I made it thinking I'd need a trim by now, but I don't.)
4. Pack up some books to send to a friend
5. Drink a beer (doing that now! okay, that wasn't really on my list. But I am doing it. I love you Blue Moon!)

Five snacks I enjoy:
1. chocolate (currently liking Milky Way a lot.)
2. frozen cherry bar. not that you can buy them anymore. Hmmph.
3. cheese
4. ice cream
5. popsicles

Things I would do if I were a billionaire:
1. Pay off our debts
2. Pay off my siblings' and mom's debts
3. Move into a bigger house
4. Donate to charity
5. Buy all of my friends lots of presents.

Places I’ve lived:
1. Baton Rouge, LA
2. Natchitoches, LA
3. New Orleans, LA
4. London, England
5. Hmm. That's about it.

Jobs I’ve had:
1. Sandwich artist at Subway (summer I was 17)
2. Salad bar technician (very first job)
3. Graphic designer for small town newspaper
4. International phone card designer
5. Children's Bookseller

TAG! You’re it...
1. Karen
2. Cindy
3. You, over there!
4. and You, in the red shirt
5. oh, and you, in the corner. I guess I should have phrased it better...you want to "rate" the boys 5 stars. And maybe hit the "recommend" link. Not sure what it does, but if we win, I promise I'll send each and every one of you a postcard from New Yawwwwk. ha ha!

In other news, I'm rejoining the gym. I really should be saving my money for things like diapers and formula and food and the electricity bill, but enough is enough. I am so out of shape, and it's way too hot here to do much outside. I'm very excited. And of course I have no idea when I'm going to go...5:30 in the morning? I think the boys are going through a growth spurt because in spite of eating two full bottles and some bananas within two hours of getting home from daycare, Miles still woke up twice to eat, and Oliver once. (Linus is the favorite child today. Ha ha!)

Had dinner with A & S, my fellow multiples moms. We went to Crepe Nanou. Yummmmmmmy. And fun. :)

Here's a video of Oliver. I took Linus and Miles to Ren's house to go swimming. I could have taken all three boys, but she has Chloe (7 months) and Allison (3 years) so even with her husband, we would have been WAY outnumbered by babies. So, three babies, three adults, and one princess. Just right.

Linus is v laid back in the floaty thingy:

Later, Chloe let Linus play in her Jumperoo, sweet girl:

In return, we had to promise that she'll never be prom date-less. No problem! I foresee the boys fighting over her when they're older. Such a cutie, and v feisty.

We tried to stalk a triplet family in her neighborhood, but when we knocked on the door, they didn't answer. Maybe they weren't home, but apparently they're never seen out and about. Anyway, maybe next time. Supposedly their triplets are around the same age as the boys.

That was definitely the highlight of the weekend. Don't worry, Oliver got lots of Daddy time while I was with the other boys. :)

Six month stats:

Linus: 16#5.5oz (25-50th); 26.5" long (50th); HC 43cm (25-50th)
Oliver: 16#9.5oz (25-50th); 27" long (75th); HC 44cm (50th)
Miles: 15#14oz (25th); 25.5" long (25th) (actually, this is incorrect, or he shrunk since last month!); HC 43.5cm (25-50th)

Oliver has regained his title as Chunker. We left for San Antonio last Sunday, and the day before, we were all sick as dogs. Actually, I was also sick on Thursday. So yeah, fun times.

The trip was rough. The boys don't like riding in cars nearly as much as they used to. There was a lot of screaming. A lot. We were able to stay with my cousin Willa and her husband Ed on Sunday night in Galveston. I wish we could have stayed longer, it's such a neat area. We'll have to take the boys when they're older. And can be tranquilized. I kid, I kid!

Anyway, some exciting milestones were hit on the trip. Oliver started sleeping through the night! And I'm talking twelve hours, without waking up. He's done it now for 5 or 6 nights! Wooo hoo! I was worried he was only going to do it at the hotel, but he did it at home last night. And guess what? So did Miles! Oh come on, Linus, tonight would be a GREAT night to catch up with your brothers!

More fun stuff - they're playing with toys! They started batting at the toy bars on their car seats during the trip (like, what else were they gonna do in the car for 12 hours?) and laughing more and "talking" more and are just getting to be so fun! They're also teething, I think, which may have accounted for some of their crankiness on the trip.

They completely charmed the entire hotel we stayed at, staff and guests alike. Little stinkers! :) Here they are in the shirts Aunt Kristie sent them...

Oh yeah, we took them swimming for the first time! I only got pictures of Miles. He didn't seem too impressed, to be honest...

My dad had a great sense of humor. And he loved kids. I can't imagine any other reason I had spontaneous identical triplets. He was looking down at me and George (a son-in-law he would have loved...they could have teased me together, imagine the fun!) and thought, you know what would be hilarious?

So between rounds at the great Golf Course in the Sky, I know he's getting a good laugh out of all this. I hope he's proud, too.

Thanks, Dad. We miss you. I can't believe it's been ten years since I saw you. I hate that you're missing out on all this fun, but I guess you're not, are you? We're going to make sure all five of your grandchildren know what a silly, fun, kind, generous, and loyal Grandpa they have up in heaven.

Oh yeah, I should have mentioned this....the onesies have all of the babies' names on them, and each baby has his or her name highlighted in red. so it says
linusolivermiles (etc etc) hearts ellen!
So we made the news on Sunday night. I was going to wait to post until they put the video online, so I could post a link, but it's not up yet. In the meantime, be prepared...the cuteness is going to hurt. Hearts will melt all over the land.

You ready?

Are you sure?

Maybe I should just post a link so that you can truly be prepared...

No, I'll just post it.

Here we go...

(Lemme explain the onesies - well, what's to explain? We took this picture to send to Ellen. Ellen was born at the same hospital as them, isn't that cool?)

Oh, and a video...

Thank goodness it's Friday. No, for real. It's been a rough week. Sick children, yucky weather, and more sick children. All are well now, though, and we have a fun weekend to look forward to. I'm getting a haircut! And a brow wax! It's been embarrassingly long since I've had either, so you can imagine my excitment.

In other, random, exciting things, the boys' nursery was featured on this design website, ohdeedoh.com

Hmmm. That's it. Have a good weekend! I'll post if the news thing is on Sunday or if they post it online or something.
