You know what’s weird? I’m more choked up and emotional today than I was last year when they turned one. Maybe because they’re more fully developed human beings this year?  I don’t know if I can say that this year was harder, because I don’t think it was. It was more fun, for sure (but I’ll always cherish the months between 7-10, those were so awesome. Mostly because they were immobile. Ha!)

Anyway, happy happy happy birthday to my monkeys. I took today off work so I could get ready for the party, and take them to the zoo, and to the hospital’s NICU reunion. (Fitting that it’s today, eh?) I haven’t taken their official picture yet, I’m waiting for UPS to deliver their birthday shirts.

This morning, when I let them into the playroom, I wasn’t sure if they’d notice their new toy, a toolbench. But Miles spotted it, pointed to it, and said, “Ohhhhh!” It was so cute, I wish I’d gotten it on video. I’ll be sure to have the video camera out later when we present them with their tricycles from my Mom and Larry.
